Located in Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood for over twenty five years, Slices Fabulous Pastries has built a respected reputation for its product quality and taste, serving hundreds of Notheastn Ohio's finest restaurants, hotels, cafes, delis and caterers, as well as private individuals, with fresh baked scratch bakery products. Founder Efty R. Simakis began developing her expertise in creating unique desserts at a very young age from the kitchen of her mother, having brought her wonderful Mediterranean style of cooking from the Island of Crete. Efty further developed her knowledge of the art of pastries from a creative cousin whom she visited during Summer vacations from school.

Efty was initiated into the commercial food business, when at age 13 she began working as a waitress for her brother-in-law's establishment, the Gordon Square Restaurant at West 65th and Detroit Ave. on Cleveland's near West Side, where she gained invaluable insight and knowledge from its well seasoned Greek chef, who was trained in Paris in the art of French pastries. Efty holds a B.A. Degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a Para-Legal Certification from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio.

Slices Fabulous Pastries has received recognition from local electronic and print media and numerous awards for its excellence. Efty has appeared on Del's Folks, Best of Del's Folks, Channel 25 (WVIZ) Cooking series and has recipes in the Channel 25 Cookbook.
